What a fun week! I has been fun getting to know each student better. We were able to go to each special class this week. After this week things will run more smoothly because the students know a little more what to expect.
Every Friday we have show and tell. I had one student tell me as we were walking back to the classroom from breakfast, "I don't even know how to do show and tell." Everything is so new to these Kindergartners.
I love being able to share what school is about with each child!
We started our math this week. We started learning about ways things are alike and different.
We also started phonics. Each week we will study a different letter. We will discuss things that start with that letter and also learn how to write the capital and lowercase letter. This week was the letter L.
Show and Tell also goes along with the letter of the week. We had lions, lights, lizards, and a picture of ones Grandfather Luke. They loved sharing what they brought.
Every Friday we have Fun Friday. We have a special snack and sometimes watch a video or play outside a little longer. This Friday Ms. Brown provided the snack. We had lollipops, lemonade, and watched The Lion King.
Friday we also made ladybug hats!
I hope everyone has a great long weekend. No school on Monday!
Please allow your child to practice writing their name this weekend. We discussed this week that there should only be one capital letter in their name.
